I am a professor in the Philosophy Department at the University of Toronto. My research is centred on the theory of reference, singular thought, and associated topics in the philosophy of language and mind, epistemology, the philosophy of action, and metaphysics. My book Fixing Reference came out at the end of 2015. I am currently working on volume 2.

I did my first degree in New Zealand, where I’m from, and my graduate work at Oxford.
